Fall is coming and the orchards are abundant with local grown apples around Chicagoland. Going apple picking is a great activity for your family to do together!
There is a lot that Wheaton has to offer, but unfortunately, acres of land for apple tree orchards is not one of them. Luckily there are many great orchards worthy of the scenic drive, but close enough to just make an afternoon of it! We have listed all the fairly-local Orchards & Farms offering Apple Picking for your convenience. Be sure to visit our event calendar for LOTS of other options for fall events to keep your family busy!

Jonamac Apple Orchard

- 7 days a week (beginning Labor Day Weekend): 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- 1/2 Peck size - $16
- Additional Fall Activities available with general admission and/or wristband purchase

- October: Dependent upon availability of apples left to pick
- U-Pick is $5/per person field admission fee (ages 3 and up)
- The charge for apples is $13/half peck picked and $22/peck picked.
- Back 40 Fun Acres:
- 7 days a week, 8:00 am to 5 pm
- Regular Weekdays: $5 for ages 3-15; Weekends: $10 for ages 3+; After 5pm: $5
Kuipers Family Farm

- Opens for the season August 22nd
- $11.99 per person admission price includes ¼ peck bag of apples. Children under 2 are free, but they do not receive a bag.
Pumpkin FunFarm & activities open September 18, 2026
Woody's Orchard & Family Fun Farm

- There is no general admission to pick apples. Orchard entrance is permitted with the purchase of at least one quarter peck bag for every 2 guests age 5 and up.
- Opening weekend August 27th
- Fall festival activities open Thursday through Sunday 10am - 6pm
Honey Hill Orchard
11783 Waterman Rd., Waterman, IL 60556
- Hours: 9-5:30 daily Sept 2 thru Oct. 31
- There are no admission or parking fees. However, everyone over the age of 2 years must purchase a picking bag to ride a wagon and go into the picking areas
- Free Children's Play Area with Farm Petting Zoo and Straw Maze
- Saturday & Sunday wagon rides to orchard and pumpkin patch-weather permitting
Heinz Orchard

- $10 for a half-peck bag (holds 5-6lbs or apples) or $20 for a full-peck bag (holds 10-12lbs of apples)
- Free admission, free parking
