What if you had a chance to physically scope out a resort before booking it for your family vacation? I joined seven other Macaroni KID publishers and did just that! We spent a weekend at the Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit, and I'm honored to show you a first-hand perspective from a real mom on the incredible stay that we had; from the warm welcome, to the incredible food, to the creative ways they engage every single guest of all ages.

As you know, sometimes going on vacation can feel like normal parenting, just in a different location. The stress and monotony of being the daily decision-maker, referee, cook, and cleaner can follow you anywhere. Going to an all-inclusive family-friendly all suites resort like Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit, actually turns your trip into a true vacation. You can take a break and let the incredibly accommodating staff take you along for a ride. I love that they have adjoining rooms, or two-bed suites, that have more than enough room for families of all sizes. Every room was situated with a view of the ocean, complete with a balcony hot tub to enjoy the view while relaxing in private.

Things to do:
The staff goes above and beyond to anticipate what you may need based on what you are looking for from your trip. If you're there for a relaxation focused getaway, that could mean rejuvenating afternoon at the spa, getting a pedicure at the salon, or working out at the fitness center. But many families just relaxed and played in one of the three pools, or visited the beach just steps away from the infinity pool edge, which I loved. It made visiting the beach super accessible and not overwhelming with kids. Other daily activities including beachfront yoga, bicycle tours, non-motorized watersports, tennis, ping-pong, beach volleyball, and other land sports.

Off-Resort Activities
Most resorts have an activities desk, but Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit truly made you feel like you were visiting family when planning these excursions. With every new person I met, it felt like the staff was introducing me to old friends. The safety of the area, and proximity to many incredible little hidden gems make it easy to go on day trips into the surf village of San Pancho, or the vibrant town of Sayulita. You can even go to the picturesque La Patrona Polo and Equestrian Club to dine at their unique restaurant overlooking the polo fields with the mountain backdrop surrounding you.

Kids Activities
The Camp Alltra for the kids was so impressive. It is more than just a safe space to leave your kids for the day. The staff does such a great job of creating engaging activities and games. Whether it was art class that incorporates Spanish lessons as they create, or putting a clever twist on traditional sports or scavenger hunts, they keep things interesting for kids of all ages. They take safety precautions to make sure every child is accounted for, so you don't have to worry while you're enjoying the pool, taking a stress-free shower to yourself (with *incredible* water pressure I may add), an afternoon relaxing at the spa, or a dinner date night at one of the many restaurants.

Variety of Dining & Drink Offerings:
This was my first true all-inclusive resort. It was so liberating not to have to worry about the typical daily decisions. Like making dinner reservations, researching safe, nearby restaurant options, or having to carry cash/credit cards everywhere. There was 24-hour room service, poolside and beachside waiter service, and 8 dining and drinking options to choose from. Every staff member was quick to provide amazing suggestions, accommodate requests, or guide you in trying something completely new!

Nightly Entertainment
Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit also takes care of any after-dinner "I'm bored" cries. Their nightly rotating entertainment schedule was amazing. Each night featured a performer or musician that wow-ed every single person in the crowd. For the nights we were there, we experienced an incredible circus troupe, breath-taking fire dancers, and an acoustic artist that played everything from American covers to traditional Mexican ballads. It was a perfect way to enjoy the cool evening breeze and close out another night of paradise.

Good hospitality is not just having plush pillows and an expansive list of amenities. It is about treating new visitors with the same kindness, openness, and respect that you wish to experience when you travel. Wyndham Alltra Rivieria Nayarit has truly exceeded my expectations in gathering a staff that can anticipate needs, provide you comfort away from home, and immerse you in a unique culture of Western Mexico that is unlike any traditional preconceived notion you may have about this country.
