What You'll Learn
Students at Sew with Sandy gain hands-on experience while building valuable life skills. Class topics include:
- Threading and operating a sewing machine safely
- Sewing an accurate, straight stitch lines
- Constructing clothing from commercial patterns
- Creating holiday decorations and crafts
- Assembling quilts
- Using and maintaining a serger
The studio has three (3) classroom sewing machines available, but students are encouraged to bring their own. Sandy will guide you through every feature of your machine, even troubleshooting when something goes wrong.
More Than Just Sewing
Sewing teaches much more than stitches. Students practice reading comprehension, direction-following, and math skills with every project—often without realizing it. Each year, students also sew a small charity project, learning compassion and the joy of giving back through their creativity.

She has a special talent for connecting with kids and teens, including boys who want to learn a hands-on, creative hobby.
